Last year, the all four trim levels of 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander were released with the redesign concept and now they would like to continue it for the third generation called 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander. It will receive the Dynamic shield design language with the upgraded interior, chassis and powertrain. Although the changes would not be too radical, buyers could choose two engine options in 2017 Outlander. The sales will be started in the middle of 2016.
2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Exterior and Interior
If you wonder about the new design for this latest edition, the first thing that you could find out is the two horizontal slates for its front grille will get chrome accents. The inlet is in shape of trapezoid with the massive and sporty look. Around its back side, it has redesigned bumper with lower and bigger taillights. Buyers could purchase it with alloy wheels in size of 18 inches and several colors are offered including Cosmic Blue, Diamond White, Rally Red, Cool Silver and Labrador Black Mercury Gray. For the base version, it has towing capacity around 1,500 pounds and the sleek improvement will improve its NVH levels. The seating surfaces are fresh with the upgraded accent trims. The stereo output is updated from six to nine-speaker in 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander.
2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Engine Performance
We think that the company might keep the previous basic offer for ES and SE. It means that both those variants will be installed with inline-four SOHC engine and 2.4 liter with the capability to deliver the amount of output about 168 hp and 165 lb-ft of torque. 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander is also featured with the acceleration from 0 to 62 mph less than 10 seconds. The top speed is about 110 mph and the fuel consumption is 24 mpg in drive and 29 mpg on highway.
For GT trim level, it is quite promising to see V6 engine and 3.0 liter to generate around 225 hp and 220 lb-ft of torque. The acceleration to 60 mph could be done for less than 8 seconds and the top speed is more than 120 mph. This engine is a bit thirsty with the fuel consumption is about 20 mpg in city and 27 mpg on highway. Both of the engines for 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander are mated to six-speed CVT transmission.
2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Release Date and Price
2017 Mitsubishi Outlander is still hard to reveal for its release date. It is speculated at the summer of 2016 with the price tag about $23,845 for ES trim and the GT trim as the top trim will be about $31,845.
