In 2015, the full redesigned model was released and the new 2017 GMC Canyon seems are not too much interesting as before if we look at some news around it. The previous 2016 MY got Denali Trim and in the end it came as the Denali family. Most likely, GMC would like to keep majority of style and features of this car. We expect that their concern is on giving any refreshment around the standard equipment. Though, 2017 Canyon has not been announced yet for its significant changes.
2017 GMC Canyon Exterior
According to online news, we found the possibility that 2017 GMC Canyon will go with the shared platform with Chevy Colorado, which means that this part is unchanged. It is still offered with two body styles and three seating layout. For extended cabin version, it has two and four-seat options while for crew cab body, it will be built for five passengers. There are five trims you can choose such as SL, Canyon, SLE, SLT and Denali.
2017 GMC Canyon Interior
There should be a high level of equipment around 2017 GMC Canyon and there is no exception for the base version. Denali provides adjustable exterior in this car to make it different from its line-up. Some features for the base trim could be alloy wheels in size of 16 inches, exterior mirrors with built-in spotter mirrors, display 4.2 inches, USB port, six-speaker sound system, backup camera, power windows, adjustable steering wheel, black vinyl floor covering, climate control and LED daytime running light.
2017 GMC Canyon Engine
Basically, there will be three engine options to offer which are two petrol and one diesel from the previous model. The first engine is inline four-cylinder and 2.5 liter to provide 200 hp and 191 pound-feet of torque. This engine is mated to six-speed manual gearbox and it has extended –cab 2WD model. The fuel consumption is 22 mpg combined. Buyers also could choose the optional six-speed automatic and 4WD. The second engine is V6 engine and 3.6 liter for 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque which is paired with six-speed auto. Using this engine, the 2017 GMC Canyon has fuel consumption about 21 mpg on combined for 2WD while 20 mpg on combined for 4 WD. The last engine is turbo-diesel 2.8 liter inline-four unit for 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The transmission and drive options are the same as V6 engine.

For the pricing specs, 2017 GMC Canyon might come out in the next year and it should be in summer of 2016 with the predicted starting price about $22,000.
